Over on DF, someone brought up the question of whether someone could grow plants underground via use of Continual light stones/spells??
Would YOU allow that??

Growing plants via continual light stones..?
It's not who you kill, but how they die!

If I had to nitpick and split hairs, I'd say no for the following reason:
The spell description for continual light says it's "as bright as full daylight", whereas the spell sunray says it is "like ray of natural sunlight". The former does not cause harm to undead, nor does it harm fungi, whereas the latter does both. So to me, that would indicate the spell continual light is as bright as sunlight, but isn't actual sunlight, whereas a sunray spell is. So the sunray spell could cause plants to grow, but the continual light spell cannot.
That being said, I can easily see a DM ruling that a continual light spell can cause plants to grow. I think that's one of those DM calls that is correct and logical no matter which way you go.
