Any of you ever watch this?I never saw the original nor Willow for that matter nor the Black Cauldron. I did just notice that Netflix has a prequel The Dark Crystal: age of Resistance which, as of Season 1 has 10 episodes. I also noticed steam plans to release a Tactical RPG game based on this.
I must admit I don't know anything of this universe but there is a wiki and fanwiki. I must say this is a fascinating world ripe fir those who expand upon it. I noticed only a few df topics:
Dark Crystal DF 1
Dark Crystal DF 2
Dark Crystal DF 3
The Dark Crystal Wiki
The Age of Resistance Wiki
Famwiki
http://www.darkcrystal.com/
Steam Game
Board Games and more. I do think i had a damaged Dark Crystal c64 game which was text. Seems like it and Labyrinth world would fit together like a glove almost.

At the edge of madness, he will show no sadness
Never broken, he'll be back for more
Proven under fire, over trench and wire
No fear of death, he's unshakeable
Forged for the war, he's unbreakable

I watch certain movies for ideas. Now if you hate halflings, emps, fuzzies, elfquest elves, kender and the like then then gelflings will not be your cup of tea nor the other race known as Podlings. Takethe muppetness out and look at raw lore via the shows/movie, comics and books and it has workable campaign ideas. Henson has/had a penchant for weird creatures I will say that. I mean he made the muppets, fraggle rock, labyrinth, and other creatures. Now, artists than can make decent art more to some liking helps take that child muppet away but the stories themselves are very much more about upbeat caring. If you watch the tv series do see the first few episodes esp the draining. You could say there is a horror aspect here where being turned to raw essence and consumed by by these Nagpa (d&d monster) -like creatures is disturbing. The large crab-like Garthim remind me of garbugs in a way.

The difference is the garthrim are animated undead-like construct abominations made with a weird magic/technology. Their spidercolony creatures are friggin weird.
