Demogorgon - Which Version?

Post by Halaster Blackcloak »

Demogorgon has always been a cool villain. I don't like him as much as Orcus or Tiamat, but he's a damned cool demon lord! The art in the original MM left something to be desired unfortunately.

I came across some artist who drew a better version of Demogorgon with roughly looking baboon heads as originally described and I colorized it in Photoshop. Here it is:

I love the art, but I have to admit I've always preferred the Grenadier miniature version better, because he is the demon lord of reptiles and the reptilian heads looked both more appropriate to me and more frightening:

Which do you all prefer?

Man i love your color work. You should have your stuff in a forum art gallery here. I recall you did a good Orcus coloring as well.
At the edge of madness, he will show no sadness
Never broken, he'll be back for more
Proven under fire, over trench and wire
No fear of death, he's unshakeable
Forged for the war, he's unbreakable

Orcus might have a big belly but those thighs are damn powerful looking. Lunges, squats and who knows what else.

Yeah, that's what I like about that pic. Orcus is described as fat, but I always thought of it as muscular/fat. He is pretty much the most powerful (and famous!) demon lord. He looks unbelievably powerful and evil in that pic.
