Just had to post this picture from the Chive. Funny in general but only D&D geeks will completely get it!

If only it was that easy to paint. Bob Ross is BOSS when it comes to painting scenery. And he's pretty mello.

I guess I'm not geeky enough, I recognized the book cover right away, but I don't know who that guy is or what makes it funny. :/

It is Bob Ross from PBS "The Joy of Painting". Depending on your age you might not even have been around when he was on TV.

I'm old enough that it never occurred to me that anyone wouldn't recognize Ross! Part of what makes it funny is that he was this super mellow hold hippie dude. 8)

Oh, I'm probably old enough, I just never saw that show. Didn't watch a lot of TV other than Saturday morning cartoons.

I miss Saturday morning cartoons. My brother and I would wake up at 2-3 am and play colecovision until they started. Ah wasted Saturdays. Now local tv doesn't support toons in lieu of E/I (educational/informative) tv sponsored by the government.

Who gives a crap about watching 2 hours of dog whisperer and trash.

GO INTO DA FOREST! EXPERIENCE TREES!!

Yeah, I don't need gov to tell me that.

I also loved the Saturday morning cartoons. For me it was Space Ghost and the Superfriends/Justice League. Fantastic Four, too. After school I loved The Electric Company.

"Wasted"? What better way to spend a Saturday morning? :D

God I love those old cartoons! I loved Space Ghost and Birdman and Cool McCool, Superfriends (and later Challenge of the Superfriends, etc), Bugs Bunny & Road Runner Show ("Overture, curtains, lights, This is it, the night of nights! No more rehearsing and nursing a part, we know every part by heart!") Groovy Ghoulies, Hong Kong Fuey, Star Trek, Batman/Tarzan Hour, Herculoids, Shazam/Isis, Lidsville, HR Pufnstuf, Grape Ape, Scooby Doo, Laugh-A-Lympics, Korg 70,000 BC, Space Angel...god, I must have watched thousands of hours of Saturday morning tv!
