heh, yeah that would be Jim Raggi. I've known him for about ten years now. Never had the opportunity to game with him. Hell, when he lived here in Atlanta I never knew he was into AD&D. It wasn't until he moved to Finland that he brought that subject up. And as you can tell if you read through t...
Can you be more specific? Got any preferred barfbag nominees in mind? remember the monster compendiums that were first introduced with AD&D 2E? The artwork for a majority of those were horrid single line black and white stuff that a middle school art student could draw up. :? Kobold? yuck! Most...
no more assassin or illusionist as character classes Is that a typo or did you mean that they re-established Illusionists as a specialty wizard class? yes, I realize the illusionist was grouped in under 'Wizard', but what I guess I should have elaborated on was that they weren't their own character...
hmm, I guess I made myself sound like an idiot above with my rather quick response. I guess I should elaborate... I was somewhat resistant to 2nd edition when it was first presented because it changed a lot of things about the game I came to know and love over several years time: AD&D (i.e. 'my ...
In 1988 I was very resistant to THAC0 and many other things that changed my game for the worse. But after trying a game or two using THAC0, I then realized how simple it truly was. I too had to spend a few minutes here and there yesterday explaining THAC0 and then realizing folks were forgetting a b...
Jeff, I'm glad you were able to get off to a good start. I feel we had a similar 'good first session' yesterday on the west side as well. It appears the older editions are alive and well in the ATL!
I look forward to reading about more of your sessions. Congratulations!
...The point being, Monopoly can be fun no matter how you play it *snip*. *shifty-eyed* uh... nekkid? :P  sorry, I felt like I needed to bring some levity to this thread before we all have a coronary. heh heh. excellent points as well Varl. And same here - I've mellowed over the years b...
It seems to me that the entire purpose of BIP is to continue to produce products for current AD&D gamers, and in part, to attract new AD&D gamers. I have to say, this thread does not seems to represent the best you have to offer gamers, and does not show a good reflection of who you all are...

Jeff
yessir! I'll be in touch with details later this evening.
I'd just like to welcome jeffx to the forums. Good to see another metro Atlanta native here. :) back to the subject matter... I have my own opinions of older editions vs. newer editions. I've tried the newer editions. And I prefer the older editions - specifically the 2E years. Call it stubborness, ...
I'm at your beck & call. I had mentioned when I first signed up on the forums that I could assist with the proofreading. But then I never heard anything more from you. :P I didn't want to be a pest. I was figuring you would send me something when you needed work done. heh. But seriously, my curr...
heh, I have a few of those in my older collection. I recall back in the day when I could toss one of those halfway across a table and still be able to read the (uncolored) numbers. But now I'm old and half-blind. :( *sigh* and I also remember an early episode of the Mystery Science Theater...
at this time I am waiting for the final mod update from the person I was teaming with when we put it back online this past year. But unfortunately, my NwN-UM server owner is spending every day and night in the hospital with his 10-yr old son, who is recovering from spinal surgery. :( I'll be happy t...
for anyone who might be interested, the Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition can be found at Wal-Mart and Target for $19.99. And it's on one disc now (not 4+), and comes with an extra storyline or two. Pretty good deal - even for someone that's completed the original game. I never did. No, I spent too...
yeah, if I had my druthers, I'd love to design UnderMountain using a Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale type of toolset. But alas, there is not one. :( About a year or so ago, I tried to get involved with a group who was using the ToEE toolset. But no one was very forthcoming with information. So I grew ...
pretty soon I'll be able to list the haks we required and maybe within a couple of weeks my friend can upload the mod again and we can take some folks here on a tour of UnderMountain like you've never seen it before...
I realize these rooms and hallways look pretty empty, but these were taken when I was going back through rebuilding the areas for a re-vamped version of our older module. As it stood, we have more than 50 of those maps as you see above for level one - and we hadn't even covered half of the dungeon. ...
I realize that this website and forums focuses on the older editions of our beloved D&D and related games. But I wanted to share with you the passion I have for UnderMountain by showing you what I worked on for more than two years within the Neverwinter Nights toolset. Please note the inset pict...
