Well this Xmas has been somewhat of a disaster, but hopefully we'll get some progress going in the new year.

Watching Rudolph, Frosty, the Grinch, and a few others tonight. I LOVE Xmas Eve! Most magical night of the year!

And who here remembers this ultimate classic? It's one of my oldest Xmas memories!

Hardrock, Coco and Joe (aka The Three Little Dwarves)

And the original Frosty the Snowman!

Xmas for my family means Xmas Eve. I just got back from my family's place, not sure if I will go back tomorrow or not. We exchanged gifts but only my brother and I actually got around to buying any, and even then we were too lazy to wrap 'em. No one felt like making dinner so we all went out for Chinese. All in all it was a pretty pathetic, phoned-in holiday. But it didn't really matter because we all hung out as a family. That's the point of the holiday to me.

If the weather is decent I'll head back to see a movie tomorrow. In any event my only real Xmas tradition is watching Die Hard. That will happen no matter what. 8)

Xmas Eve was always the most magical part of the holiday for me. Best day of the year!

I always watch Die Hard and Die Hard 2 in early December (usually part two twice) because they feel so Christmas-like despite the action/violence aspect. Just a lot of fun! Same for Lethal Weapon. Any movie that opens with Jingle Bell Rock just bubbles over with Christmas!

Throughout the month, I also watch:

Black Christmas - An old horror movie that to me just feels very Christmas-like
Jingle All The Way - Great Schwarzenegger movie parodying the insanity of the materialism of the season
Home Alone - Always fun!
Christmas Story - Great film from Finland about how Nicholas became Santa
Journey to the Christmas Star - Great Norwegian Christmas film with awesome scenery and beautiful cartoon art opening
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - Basically, my life story! Yeah, I go overboard like that!
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians - Indescribably crazy but fun movie. Gotta see it to believe it. And the song will stick in your head forever!
It's A Wonderful Life - What a classic!
How the Grinch Stole Christmas - Watched it every year of my life!
Frosty the Snowman - Another one I've seen every year of my life!
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - Again, every year of my life, and probably the best of the kid/cartoon Christmas movies.
A Christmas Carol - The ultimate 1951 version with Alastair Sim as Scrooge. Got the colorized version, the restored B&W version, etc.

So that is the main Xmas library. Still gotta get:

White Christmas
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Miracle on 34th St.
