Hey folks,

As many of you know, the registration process here is more stringent than many other boards. We do this for two main reasons. One, it is easy to spam message boards and this is something we will not tolerate. Two, sadly to say but the BIP Project has many enemies among other D&D and AD&D gamers.

I will not get into why this is but we do have some vocal opponents. Controversy is encouraged here on the BIP site and this is one of the reasons why the RoUMIII project has taken more time than we thought to publish it. You should read some of the threads on the project board.

However, we will not tolerate open and indiscriminate flaming so please be aware that Halaster and myself are closely watching things here and will react promptly if action is needed. If you would like to sign up to the boards then send Halaster an email. If you are approved then welcome aboard, but don't sit idle for over a week with no posts or replies or your account will be deleted.

Thanks everyone!

I'm quite surprised to hear/see that there is opposition to the creation of BIP's RoUMIII project! I would think that this would be greeted with open arms because of the limited availability of adventures for 1e and 2e games (anything short of what's available on DF).

I'm really sorry to hear that this has become such a burden because of those who are so strongly against this project.

A serious shame this is...

I have not known anyone yet to dislike what is going on here. I have told the group I DM and the others I play with and they are thrilled to know more is coming.

Then again I do not go to many forums so I might miss where there are people who do not like it.

Keep up the great work.

The bottom line is that there is a lot of animosity towards me personally coming from a handful of fanatics at certain other sites, mainly DF and K&K Alehouse. At one point in history they tried to bully me around and found out that Halaster backs down to no one, and the fact that they could not silence or defeat me caused them all sorts of psychological unrest. So be it. I extended the olive branch once when Gary Gygax died and it was ignored. Now that olive branch is a very sharp, pointy stick and I am not averse to using it in particularly cruel ways if called upon to do so. Let sleeping archmages lie, that's always good advice. I generally ignore them because I have my hands full right now, and I'm having too much fun doing the BIP Project to worry about flame wars or endless debates over what constitutes "old school".

But yes, there are people out there at those sites who would love to see the BIP Project fail simply due to their unrelenting hatred of me personally. They don't concern me at all. There have been infiltration attempts now and then. And also attempts by unrelated spammers from overseas and wherever, hoping to sell us viagra or what not. Again, no biggie.

Yeah, the enemies will make a loud noise when we release this, far more than they did with that recently released module called "Insidious" with the words "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons" on the cover. Some of the bunker idiots went crying to WotC about it. "Copyright infringement! OGL violations!" They'll do the same with our release, only they'll all gang up do to so. That's already been planned by some of them, so it's as sure a bet as the sun rising tomorrow morning. Yawn. Whatever. They might as well try blowing hot air out their asses in an attempt to blow out the sun.

But recently we've had a few suspicious sign ups and their emails (when traced) show lot of odd, forged headers, along with suspicious behavior. So we just delete them. Who cares?

Like others have said, I hear nothing but good things being said about this project, and lots of encouragement from all over the place (which we really appreciate). Fans are tired of bickering and nonsense. They just want to have fun and to have something to be excited about once more. We're providing that. It's that simple.

I really can't wait to see the looks on peoples' faces when they see Level 8.

I can't see why there'd be harsh words for a professional product that will be free. I don't know what people in the business get paid these days for printed works but I do think that not all are happy with their pay and only work at that job for the money not the love of the creation process. A group of individuals get together and work on a project that will be free... usually pure gold IMHO.

I'll even say that those who work on computer mods for games often put so much effort in their works it sometimes puts the original work to shame done by a company.

Part of it is trauma from old wars fought years ago (people don't know how to let go) and part of it is pure jealousy. A certain bunkered group of gamers threw a hissy fit because the Insidious adventure sold more units in 3 weeks than their adventure sold in 3 years. That was their actual complaint. And so they tattled to WotC.

So much bitterness. If people want to have their fun and do their own thing, others want to extinguish that fun. Some people are just mentally ill, that's the only way I can explain it. :?

Here is Insidious:

And if you want to see a bunch of drama queens and wannabe tyrants having hissy fits over it, go here:

Quick, let's go tattle to WotC as we collectively shit out pants!

Good lord, you'd think the earth was coming to an end.
