Re: CJ for Realms of Kervasis Kalomm.. (2nd ed)

Well, rats. Seems this group is breaking.. Two rage quit after last session.. Calling those Z-throk, totally Farked. And one even made the complaint "WE may be a large group, but we are traveling stealthily, and sleeping without a fire.. SO how could those undead sneak up on us, and get so clos...

Re: Using the WEB spell, when OUTSIDE?

Now linked.. If they are say in the open (near a coastal cliff edge) no trees for miles.. And just 2-3 inch grass around. WOULD FOLKS Moving on them, while folks slept, be making "enough noise", for anyone in camp, to hear it, BEFORE they get close to infravision range? Since there's no le...

Re: Using the WEB spell, when OUTSIDE?

There are so many off the cuff judgement calls that players suggest and DM ponders it'd be difficult to cover them all. With how the player was 'asking' for it, it seemed more like a gripe/whine, turning into a demand "that i alter the spell, and stop being a slave to RAW", rather than a ...

Re: Using the WEB spell, when OUTSIDE?

Well, the two situations that cropped up, where Jerry (Well his player Trevor) asked/whined it didn't work in the way HE was wanting, was when they faced against two groups of Large foes (8-9ft ogres, and then last session, vs some 7-8ft tall kephrinn... He argues that "if a tree is good enough...

Using the WEB spell, when OUTSIDE?

OK. Had a situation crop up last session where the group is hugging a coast line, so NO Trees around, no roof, walls or OTHER stuff, to anchor a Web spell too. BUT Trevor, thinks that "WEB SUCKS, because unlike in 3e or other newer editions, it won't just create a sticky CARPET, OR lash onto LA...

Re: CJ for Realms of Kervasis Kalomm.. (2nd ed)

Looking over everyone's gear, after the session, Stephen MISSED that Narilla does have ONE Elixir of health in her folder, and Trevor, Colton and Carnell all didn't even THINK of checking the NPCs list of gear, when they were doing the Divving out of treasure, before they headed out, as Brother Yood...

Re: CJ for Realms of Kervasis Kalomm.. (2nd ed)

OK. Session 20 is under the belt, and BOY was it a nasty one. For the session i rolled only 2 random encounters, but i rolled BOTH for the same day, and both were at night (one first watch, one 3rd). So returning was Stephen from his trip down south (florida), playing Brother Joth and Brand, and Nar...

I was thinking for a Riding ram base its carry capacity on 1/3rd of what a donkey has, 1/2 for a riding bear, 1/4th for a boar.

Carry capacity for NON-standard mounts?

Through many books/novels etc, we often see folks riding non-standard mounts. Such as Riding rams or war-boars for dwarves, or big bucks for elves. What source would someone use to come up with how much carry capacity those non-standard mounts could have? Would saddles and such , cost the same for t...

Re: CJ for Realms of Kervasis Kalomm.. (2nd ed)

SO, Session 19 down in the bag.. Stephen was down in Florida for something this weekend, so his characters got split up. Returning was Colton (Brandt), Carnell and Trevor. Trevor player Jerry, and Betty as always, and had Bob-the-hob and Fred. He also took over the rest of the mooks. Carnell had Roc...

Re: CJ for Realms of Kervasis Kalomm.. (2nd ed)

So we had session 18 tonight, due to Carnell having to do a switching up of weeks, to match his work schedule. Trevor though had to swear off today's game, due to his entire family coming down with the vid.. Hope he gets better. BUT returning was Brandt (Colton). So we had the same characters (Singe...

So session 17 over and done with.. Brandt couldn't make it, as he;s doing stuff for a house hold move this weekend... So returning was Stephen (running Brand, Brother Joth, and like last time kept running Narilla as a hench woman). Trevor (running Jerry, Betty, and running Fred as henchman), both sp...

Population size needed for thief guild?

One of my players is thinkin in the long term about once the party has fully cleared out the island, setting up a thief guild of sorts. BUT how big of a town/city would he realistically need for an 'average' size thief guild? I know in the thief handbook, a village/town up to 500 folks, can by their...

Well, checking some other documents out, and the ranger friendship, won't work on worgs due to their low int, since its NOT animal int... So that's out, but speak with animals still would work...

As a Q, since they are "Low" int, would animal friendship not work? What of speak with animal, or Charm animal, or Charm person or mammal??

Are worgs irredeamably evil?

Since Worgs are kind of like just LARGE wolves/dogs, does that make them irredeemably evil like orcs/hobgoblins who ride them are? OR if a ranger (or two) spent months maybe even longer, working with a few captured ones, periodically hitting them with animal friendship/using the ranger 'befriend ani...

Re: CJ for Realms of Kervasis Kalomm.. (2nd ed)

Since the subject of training, and membership in various guilds was raised, here's the rundown. Anastasius and Kythun, as a psionicist or bard respectively, have no guilds.. So neither require membership. (same would happen with any druid). Brother Yoodaz, Brother Joth, and Sister Narilla, being pri...
