Did you ever decide on getting the upgrade Garkal? Again, I'm considering it (the package with D3 since it is cheap).
I'm waiting to see if blizzard cloud keeps a copy in your personal account. I couldn't dl until taking laptop to cafe or library.

Anyone buying the pack? As a collector, I may pick up the typical cheap package not special alt covers. Normally, I'd wait until a pirate pdf apoears but that might not happen. OAR6 temple of elemental evil never found its way to me (if it exists). I have basically everything physical of SJ except f...

I'd like to say something but McDeath is officially banned. -----name scrubbed----- my gen Z alt (18-19yo) is an idiot V-gamer who doesn't know shit about D&D other than CRPG and an ex DM who burned stuff on Tik-Tok. But I'm betting they know its me. Hard to create a new writing style and be per...

Re: Wizard Lock question
This esp makes sense eith novels where doors, barriers, etc are locked of warded and need a method to pass without destroying the protective measure. There are probably a lot of spells that need tweaking in various instances.

Re: Netbook of equipment??
Besides what a member posted on DF, I can't recall since most links to old netbooks are gone. Lord knows I tried to rally and collect the old NBs and see if people would rehost them but that ends up an abysmal failure. I hate that old site domains get eaten and links destroyed.

Re: How long to build a wooden tower??
You'd think in the 90s with the few resource and building games on conputers that the pnp scene would craft more base building, resource management, and crafting products and really try to restructure rules towards that end. I'll admit, niche groups I knew back then were even interested but there we...

Re: The Six Lost Wizards
I had to find that in some comic archive page by page and not a pdf. The quality is kind of meh and not that sharp but it'd hardly make an improvement. The artist fucked up on the gang. Hank has orange hair and bobby brown? Eh... NO. Eric looks like some fucked up wannabe vampire. And whats with the...

Re: Ioun stones and level raises??
Didn't FR have a crown of the wyvern that had several set ioun stones and it functioned? Odd since i thought theg had to orbit. Ah Ioun stones are sometimes pressed into another magic item to draw on their power. The lich priestess Vermissa possesses a gold and amethyst magical earring crafted from ...

Re: Ioun stones and level raises??
With the wight you could be extremely generous and burn out the stone (gray) of have it explode since in 1e the burned out stones still have uses. Can you recharge the stone? Dunno. Can you use a batch of these level stones? 2, 3, 5, 10, 20+?

Re: 2e mostly. Prot from evil, BLOCKS all charm/domination??
Perhaps their field can be countered by a permanent protection vs evil 10'radius or something similar. I've never understood if the field is always active even in sleep or once awake of after some morning prayer ritual. As is, it looks like its an energizer bunny protection field. Perhaps the paladi...

Re: 2e mostly. Prot from evil, BLOCKS all charm/domination??
I haven't compared editions OD&D, Moldvay/cook, Holmes, 1e to 2e and I wonder how similar it is or if this is yet another case of edition bloat by those writing/editing 2e. A bit of munchkinism sneaking in (or perhaps 1e articles in dragon magazine and other zines were drawn upon from questions ...

Sounds a lot like simple ceremonial magic in the art of the occult. It is one of the most simple things a practitioner will learn and do next to clensing so first level is perfect.

Re: Ranger's species enemy, how strict are you?
Never had the ranger handbook (well pdf but never read it). Yeah, the damage of 1e is pretty awesome but I do like how the handbook settled related species. It is funny 2e nerfed the damage when some mobs are considerably stronger (mainly dragons).

Re: Ranger's species enemy, how strict are you?
Oh man, that's tricky. I guess it paints Rangers as possible bigots with absolute prejudice vs their hated enemy. Dare you ask that at DF? You'd think it'd never come up but thre are CRPGs and other rpgs (some very close to D&D) that allowed it. Of course some of us played evil characters even a...
