We've been catching up on it, and it's true it's not completely faithful to the books. Zed uses a LOT more magic than he ever did in the books for one thing. Still, we're both enjoying it. Neither Jon or I are 'sticklers' when it comes to such stuff, it has to go pretty far off before I really care....

One of my mage PCs did create a Bolt of Fire spell, it was 4th level, but was comparable to Fireball. And it didn't expand to dimensions or bounce off walls :)

That is precisely the reason why Lightning Bolt is the preferred spell underground, you have to be pretty high level to be able to throw a Fireball and not get caught in your own spell! Lightning Bolt has it's own risks, but it's easier to get around than Fireball is. Mira (Artificial intelligence i...

I thought the 'supermodules' were just the series repackaged, nothing really new added, just conveniently collected. I have some of them in non-super module form (ie, S1, S2, S3 and S4 as seperate modules), is there any reason to get them in super-module form if you have the modules seperately? Mira...

Magic the Gathering was WotC's claim to fame, though acquiring Pokemon is one thing that influenced their purchase by Hasbro.

It sounds more and more like a combination of video game and card game. More a card game from what I'm seeing. What crap! Exactly. I bet we'll be seeing the actual cards being sold fairly soon, since that's really the only reasonable way to play the game without a computer. Even the reviews ...

4E, has Hasbro finally delivered the killing blow?

I've seen the 4E PHB and it is far worse than I could ever have imagined. And I had really low expectations for it going in! Clerics can start with an AT WILL ability that does 1d8 + their wisdom modifier damage, using their Wisdom vs the foes Reflex. It has a 5 square range AND one of their friends...

I have to say that made me wonder as well, like you, I've always started at 1st level unless it was a 'one-shot' adventure, where it wasn't about role-play but how clever the players were. (we did those every once in a while, with the 'competition' modules) And usually those one-shots weren't all th...

Skeletons and Zombies are undead without any ties to the Negative Material Plane. The level draining undead have such ties, but there are undead that don't have them. (and they don't drain levels due to that)

My guess it was just the author's write up, not copied from somewhere. I found it on a site with some miscellaneous stuff from a game he was running. (turned up through a dogpile search)

All I could find was a list of golems for NWN (CRPG) and a write up that someone else had done. The NWN version makes them stronger than Iron Golems(!), while the other writeup makes them fairly weak, but annoying. -------------------------------------------- Flesh Golem: Pinkish, small, 40hp, 2000x...

I'd think a Red Dragon would be wanting to do ANYTHING to get out of there! It could only live down there by hibernating a lot and feeding on whatever Halaster fed it, there's no way it could forage for food if it can't get to the surface once in a while. Though I bet it's probably pretty cowed by H...
