I have limited time to work on stuff. I added some ideas for feedback on Illusions but I felt like I was working alone. I barely get 20 minutes at a time to work on stuff before being pulled away.

I will say that the blue/white art and a good percentage of the full color art in 2e is vomit-inducing.

no more assassin or illusionist as character classes
Is that a typo or did you mean that they re-established Illusionists as a specialty wizard class?

THAC0 didn't "change" from 1e, it always had the same mechanic. 2e just presented it differently with progression rate/class instead of a cumbersome chart that mapped out each classes different level. I never understood how people can't understand it. I wish I could have been there, becaus...

For the record, I like the FR Adventures book. It thankfully has stuff that you can use for pre-TOT.

I am mostly okay with the post-time of troubles stuff. It's fine, but I much prefer the before time.

I like the more subtle approach where it's just the art (or portion of the art) and the same font that says know your roots. It allows closet geeks like myself to wear it in public without being utterly embarassed. Sorry, was just something I whipped up in a few mins after reading this thread. No n...

Ugh.

I just watched that video. Every time that company makes a move, they piss on the good name of D&D. Inching ever closer to just being an MMO.

Yeah, I've DM'd it a few times... a few final details and it'll be finished and I'll see if Hal wants to put it out as a BIP module.

Most up to date version is here:

Zherbus played it I believe Whoa whoa whoa... I've given it a few chances. Saying I "played" it makes it sound like I was actively engaged in such nonsense. Do you think giving them 2E books would change anything? No, they've already tasted 3e and what it brings. It's very difficult to ta...

3E is more about numbers than the actual imaginative aspect. The supporting arguements (because I believe in actually backing up what I say, not shooting from the hip) are: I don't mean quantity of numbers. Even so, the whole Feats nonsense by itself adds a whole other layer of mathimatics that go ...

I have to rewrite a script to compile the forums and then all will be revealed.. . that's already been revealed... but it will be revealed again!

If anyone wants anything specific before a few days are up, let me know so I can parse my DB for it.

Players can not ignore the style of play. They implement the style. Just adding fuel to the blaze here... I think that it's an invalid defense of any given system when I hear things like the quote above. In the eternal debates/edition wars I've battled in before, it's only a matter of time before s...

Yeah, totally predictable. We knew the 3.x camp was going to start crying with 4e. Way to kill a franchise you blow-hards. Keep on rocking with your half-goat, half-sprite blackguards with the feat to double-backflip-while-spinning-your-blades, just to gain an extra 3 attacks per round. Look where i...

House Rules?

I thought it'd be awesome to share some house rules just to cross-pollinate some good ideas to other DM's. Here is what Minstrel and I layed out for rules that we mostly share between our group. He runs the core campaign, but I usually end up doing a side mini-campaign so he gets to play and I get t...
