Seems to me that going to Vista is a bigger jump than going to Linux from Windows 98 :) There's going to be MORE support for things on Linux than for things on Windows 98 actually, so that excuse doesn't really hold up either. You definitely don't want Office 2007 if you want to be able to look at y...

Re: How rare is divine ascension?
Now this certainly rarely if ever happens. How many people have legitimately gotten a character to 25th or 30th level? :? We got close to that, I had my thief up to 21st after 20 years of play :D And one guy had a 19th level mage. But it's pretty rare to have a campaign even run that long, and even...

Monster Manual is part of the main rules IMO, just because you're having to do an awful lot of work if you don't use it. But I have to disagree on the Dieties and Demigods book, I'm not sure that you NEED it. A campaign can be built with a home-brewed religion in place and function just fine I think...

I don't know which module it was, but there was one (I think part of that old Expert/Master series) where PCs could be 'rewarded' with that, but all the changes that occured to the character actually ended up making them a lot weaker than they were before :D I did take it it with one of my PCs that ...

There are some people having trouble signing up for the forums here, is there something they have to do differently than follow the normal sign up? If I know what the procedure is, I can pass that along to the interested parties :) Mira (The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the abil...

Hopefully Halaster will PM you with his email so you can send it to him. I could send it to him if he doesn't get to you in a day or two, but I think he gives out his email to very few people so I can't presume to give you the email myself. Odds are that if it works in Firefox it'll work in the infe...

ok, I'll take your word as far as visuals. my eyes are not that good any more, I couldn't tell the difference from the JPG and BMP files when I looked at them. Same reason I had to give up painting minis, I just can't see things that well anymore :( Centering normal stuff is fairly easy, but when yo...

I'm not sure if I could figure out the centering very easily, I only managed to get the pics where they are by using specific pixel placement. I'd have to figure out someother way of placing them in order to center it and I'm not an HTML expert :) There might be some relative vs absolute clauses one...

No scrolling at all for me. but as I said, I have a huge screen :) (1680x1050) Still, the smallest screen we have on any of our computers is 1024x768, only those of you with really old computers run at 800x600 :) Yes, there probably would be a little scrolling for 800x600, but all the links should b...

Oh, maybe that's why I didn't seen anything, I don't see popups. I would think you could just close that window and keep going. Alt-F4 maybe if no cloes button is displayed. Between Firefox's built in pop-blocking and the Adblock extension, there's a lot of garbage I never see :) Mira (I feel like I...

It does? well, do a search on it, there are other places to get it that don't. It's been a while since I've used it, but I know I didn't have to sign up to use it. I didn't intentionally send you to a page where registration is required, I hate that kind of stuff with a passion! (edit)I just tried i...

Had no problems with Adobe 7 (which is outdated, but it's the latest that will run on Panther). If you look for the Adobe Speed-Up program http://www.mercola.com/2005/jan/26/adobe_speedup.htm (for Windows, try here for Mac tips http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/macosxhints/2005/12/slimreader/index.php...

Now WTF? I set the links to bright yellow and they worked fine. All of a sudden, they're appearing in white! I didn't change anything, and in fact double-checked the CSS settings in the admin panel, re-saved it to be sure, and they're still white!  :? And people ask why I...

I'm pretty sure if you take the saturation level down -50 in the blue background gif, you can get it looking fairly decent. I took the images above, and lowered the overall down to that and it looked a lot better to me. I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of toning down the color to make it work. Mir...
