Yep, those were the first ones to get snagged.
I really dug back into the bowels of the internet on some of these. Openoffice is having a bitch of a time properly formatting this stuff made in like '97. I forgot how recently people thought publishing everything in Word was a great idea.

Character Sheets
I'm working on a review of freely downloadable character record sheets for 2nd edition AD&D. Does anyone know of any "must haves"? Specifically, they must be free (at least as in beer if not speech), generic (not for a specific class) and suitable for 2nd edition. Ones without S&P ...

I laughed at the beginning of the video. There was comment about how some people may not know their roots. Then mentioned 3.0 and 3.5. Teehee. Makes me wish I had some Gimp skills. I would make a t-shirt with the old 1E players handbook on the front with know your roots in text underneath. Then on ...

Admittedly, I've mellowed my stance towards 3e the past few years mainly because forehead vein-popping rants don't do any good, and are often ignored anyway, so why get one's blood pressure up over something you can do nothing about? Heartily agree there. I've said most everything I care to say on ...

but all the games I've seen in hobby shops around have been kids crunching blocks of stats and talking about feats and builds and combos. Define kid for me. I know when I was a kid my games (1E at the time) were all about stats. Granted, it wasn't feat and level stacking but it was certainly combos...

One more comment....then bed....really! Hah! I know that feeling... Maybe....just thinking out loud here....this all boils down to game style vs. play style...I am talking about play style while everyone else is talking game style. Tomorrow. If you're using play style to mean the general tendency o...

The combat system is so complex that you really must use minis of some kind (which is why they have those little cut-out counters included if you don't have any real minis) to be able to run it properly via the rules. So if 4e is simple over that that would be an improvement. You've mentioned simpl...

I didn't say that players had to play a certain edition/game/etc a certain way, but that each game system fosters a certain style of play. I'm talking tendencies, not absolutes. A group is free to ignore that style of play, as you state correctly. That does not mean it isn't encouraged by the syste...

Evil sharp dice
Wondering if anyone has seen any of the old colored, gem-like dice with sharp edges on sale on ebay or anywhere? These were the types that usually didn't have any coloring on the numbers. I'd love to augment my collection. I'll post a pic later if I can snap one at home. Zherbus will know what I'm t...

I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love the idea of using one of those until I see the pictures, and then I get the feeling that it's taking something away from the game. Maybe I'm just too gun-shy after seeing the effects of video games on the hobby, and afraid it would give the game a video...
