True, but it's not a violation of the rules for priests to have spell-like granted powers. Those can emulate actual spells or be effects/abilities invented by the DM from whole cloth.

I think it makes sense though that priests of different deities would have different spells that reflect the nature of their deity. I like Wights for the mid-level campaigns, Vampires for upper level games and the king daddio for BBEG has to be the Lich!

In my campaign every priest is dedicated to a specific deity, and each one has different spells, powers and granted abilities. Overall I like the way 2E handles priests/clerics.

BTW, didn't mean to be away so long. It's been a busy summer! I'm in Montana now, just been super busy with work. And when I'm not at work I'm out in the parks and forests engaging in my main non-D&D love...bushcraft!

Unfortunately I probably won't make it home for Xmas this year. Not a huge deal but my mom is 70, kind of hate to miss any holidays with her. But it's about a fifteen hour drive and I don't really have time to get there and back.

That's a shitty deal. Maybe they think it's enough of a niche product that customers will have to settle even if it's not very good?

Well, I'm lazy! So I'll just bump up last year's Happy Holidays thread! I recently moved to Montana and probably won't make it "home" for the holidays. But I will probably be pretty busy so I wanted to with you all a Merry Xmas in case I don't get time later.

I hope it was a good one! I spent Thanksgiving moving my stuff into a new apartment in a different state. Actually I forgot it was Thanksgiving! Had to have some Burger King cause it was the only thing open. Still, I think I'll like my new digs.
